Welcome to remarkable wives.

My heart is to share life truths and inspire women to find, and live in, their authentic identity.  On the journey of being a wife and a mom it’s very easy to loose perspective of this.

The purpose of remarkable wives is to journey towards finding true identity amidst the bimg-20151114-wa0004-2usiness of our lives.  It’s about how we, as wives and moms, can have a life-changing impact on our society – starting with ourselves and our families.  Within the margins of a very demanding society, it is absolutely crucial that we know who we are, so that we can inspire others to be who they were meant to be.

If you are passionate about living intentionally and being an inspiration within your marriage, and your society, stick around.  New articles are published once or twice a week and I would love for you to become a part of the conversation. You can sign up for updates, by entering your e-mail address below.

Excited for you to become a part of the inspiration!

A little more about me

I grew up in a west-coast town Swakopmund, in Namibia.  It is an absolute treasure as it is snugged between the ocean and the desert.  After highschool, I moved to South Africa and studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where I graduated with an honours degree in English literature.

After university I was part of a performing arts ministry which toured throughout the southern and eastern parts of America.  It was the best two and a half years of my life.  Definitely also the most challenging while shaping my character and finding my identity.  This is also where I met my husband.

We moved back to Cape Town in 2009, got married in 2010, and still live here today.

I have written a couple of blogs and pieces of fiction, of which most have never been seen by anyone.  Truth be told I did send a couple of poems in for publication while I was studying, but after the first rejection decided I’m never going to do that again.  Looking back on that decision, and knowing what I know now, I wish I’d kept submitting publications.

Other than writing about marriage and relationships, my heart is truly to help women understand who they are meant to be.  I have led hundreds of women in counselling sessions and it always comes back to this very core question:  Who am I?

The origin of this blog

This blog originated out of a a dire need to give voice to the complexity of daily life.  A part of this is captured in my post on [extra]ordinary wives

The balance of this complexity lies in managing:

  • Identity
  • Family
  • Marriage
  • Career
  • Spirituality
  • “Me” time
  • Success

In these different spheres of life lies our desire for control, and often without intention, our ability to manipulate.  Join me in this journey (and discussion) of self-discovery as we venture to find that which makes us remarkable and influential in our society.
